We have a LOT going on this fall and I wanted to make sure you were aware of everything.
Uniforms:
Men's Ensemble: Men responsible for black shoes, black pants, and black collared shirt. I will order white vests and bow-ties that the men will buy and can sell back at the end of the year for a reduced cost to future Men's Ensemble members. Those will cost $20. The payment is now set up on My School Fees and has to be paid for by a week from today (September 16th). Students can also set up a payment contract by speaking with me- I will send you with a note to the principal's secretary who will draw up the document.
Women's Choir: Women will wear all black, must have at least a cap sleeve and legs covered. I have several used black dresses available for purchase for $20-$25 that will work perfectly. They will receive flowers to put in their hair.
Concert Choir: Women who did not buy a used dress need to pay $70 to the treasurer or on My School Fees before I can order the dress (new school rule). They take a couple weeks to come in, so please be sure to get those paid for (or make a payment contract with the principal's secretary-this will also work) by September 16th. These dresses can be sold back to next year's CC students.
Madrigals: Men responsible for their own tuxes. Needed by October 18th. Women's dresses are arriving any day.
Important Dates:
September 28: Fundraiser kick off meeting- 7:00 p.m. in the choir room (right after P/T conferences)
September 28-29: Parent/Teacher Conferences
October 4: Choir Social "Dessert Extravaganza" hosted by the choir council, 2:45-4:00 p.m. in the choir room. Bring desserts! Please don't bring any desserts with nuts.

Volunteer Sign-ups:
Please go to this google survey if you have some time/talents you can offer as we prepare for our fall concert! Concert Report Opportunities:
There are many free opportunities to see concerts this term! Here are only a few of the many options:
- Salt Lake Symphonic Choir Rehearsals, ever Wednesday night from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Students only need to stay for one hour to get credit. It is on 1871 E. Parley Canyon Road (right here in the neighborhood!)
- Music and the Spoken Word every Sunday morning in the Tabernacle on Temple Square
- Highland High School Band/Orchestra Concert
- Free Concerts on Temple Square
- University of Utah choir concerts (show your ID to the ushers at the door for free entry)
I'm having a wonderful year so far- what incredibly sweet, talented kids I have the opportunity to work with!
Sincerely,
Ms. Katie Houston
