Tuesday, April 9th- Choir festival for En Chantant and Concert Choir @ Skyline HS. Meet in choir room at 5:45 p.m. Festival begins at 6:30 p.m. We will leave Skyline to come home at 8:00 p.m.
Friday, April 12th- En Chantant earned the class party for term 3 and will have a class party during A5. Ms. Houston will provide pizza and students will provide sides.
Saturday, April 27th: State Solo and Ensemble and Chamber Choir Festival @ Northridge High School. Details coming. This is for anyone who qualified for state (including Madrigals).
Important May Choir Dates:
Wednesday, May 1st and Thursday, May 2nd: Auditions for En Chantant, Concert Choir, and Madrigals after school from 2:30 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. No need to sign up- just come! Auditions take about 3-5 minutes. I will audition members of TB Ram Choir and SA Ram Choir during their class (B1 and B3 on Thursday, May 2nd).
Friday, May 3rd: Call backs for Madrigals (by invitation- I will let you know if I need you to come back) from 2:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m. All current Madrigals need to attend.
Monday, May 6th:
- Choir auditions for all 8th graders interested in an auditioned choir . They will be held at Hillside Middle School from 7:45 a.m.-9:15 a.m. Meet in the choir room. SA singers may audition for En Chantant and TB Singers may audition for Concert Choir. Students planning on being in the non-auditioned SATB Ram Choir next year do not need to audition.
- Choir lists will be posted after school.
- Choir council applications for 2019-2020 choir council will be available- see Ms. Houston for one.
Thursday, May 16th and Friday, May 17th: Interviews for Choir Council positions for next year.
Tuesday, May 14th: Tartanfest from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. in the commons. There will be a food truck and lots of amazing visual and performing arts to enjoy. If you attend for one hour, you can count it as your "Sing to Serve" project, even if you don't perform. This is an event for the WHOLE community! It is not mandatory.
Monday, May 20th: Choir Banquet and Final Concert, "Decades of Music"
- 5:30 p.m.-6:45 pm: Dinner in the cafeteria. Cost is $5 per person. We will have a variety of soups; breadsticks; and dessert.. Stay tuned for details on how to buy dinner tickets. This is not mandatory! There will be an amazing dinner show provided by choir students, however, and we will announce the choir council for 2019-2020.
- 6:45 p.m.-7:00 p.m.: Slide show in the auditorium. Come see the year in review!
- 7:00 p.m.- 8:30 p.m.: Choir concert and awards in the auditorium. This part IS mandatory for all choirs!
Friday, May 31st: Performance Observations and Sing to Serve due
