This is a concert you won't want to miss!
Admission to the concert is FREE.
We will be fundraising for our choir program during the evening. We will sell delicious desserts for $5 (or 5 for $20) during the hour prior to the performance in the cafeteria. Choir students will be selling those tickets in advance starting next week. We need to know how many desserts to have ready, which is why we pre-sell the tickets. The last day to buy tickets (and for students to turn in their money to West in the treasurer's office) is Monday, October 19th. Dessert tickets will be sold at the door on a first come first serve basis based on how many extra desserts we have. Students must buy dessert tickets as well if they want to eat one.
Here are more specifics on the program for the evening:
6:00-6:50 p.m.: Come to the cafeteria to listen to live music from a Polynesian band and dance group (featuring two of our choir students). You can trade an orange ticket ($5 each) for a delicious dessert donated by HHS choir parents.
7:00 p.m.: Come listen to music of the islands performed by all four of HHS's choirs.
- Advanced Women's Ensemble will feature music from Tahiti, the Phillipines, and Hawaii.
- The Mixed Ensemble will take us to Jamaica and New Zealand
- The Concert Choir will music from the Channel Islands and Jamaica.
- The Madrigals will bring us back to the Phillipines and take us on a detour away from the islands to the Renaissance period (they recently performed at the Shakespeare festival in Cedar City).
The program will feature traditional dancing from our choir students (and a few guests), plus small group numbers from more islands such as Tonga.
We can't wait to see you all there- we would love to pack the house!
