If you are interested in moving up to a higher level of choir, you MUST audition. If you would like to stay in the same choir, I will sign your registration card without an audition.
Auditions will be held after school on February 9, 10, and 11. It's first come first serve! The choir council will be outside and send you in when there is an availability for you to audition. Here is what you will be asked to do at when you come for your audition on any of these days.
- Fill out an audition sheet before your audition
- Sing, "The Star Spangled Banner." I will not have you sing the whole thing; in fact, I may only have you sing a couple lines. I may also ask you to sing it in different keys.
- Sing vocal exercises (I will demonstrate them for you) to test your range and determine your voice part.
- Clap some rhythms and sight read a line of music.
You will be surprised at how much you know! Don't be intimidated by the audition process. It's very easy and I want EVERYONE to be successful and have a good experience.
I will hold call-backs for madrigals on Friday, February 12. All returning madrigals and those who I call back need to be present.
Final choir lists will be posted on Tuesday, February 16th.
Final choir lists will be posted on Tuesday, February 16th.
I will have a special audition day on Monday, February 18th at Hillside for 8th grade students who want to audition for the advanced women's choir.
