Madrigals Call-Back List

Hello, everyone!  We had a huge number of people try out for madrigals this year, which is really exciting, but it also makes choosing really tough.  This year, I will accept about 24-28 people in madrigals depending on the balance.  I have 8 (maybe 9) students returning from madrigals last year.  That leaves between 15-19 spots. 

Call-backs for madrigals will be Tuesday, February 16th, after school in the choir room at 2:30 p.m. I changed it because many people had sports conflicts tomorrow.

 There are many things I consider aside from just a student's voice- ability to sing independently, ability to harmonize, good sight reading, what grade students are in, how long they have participated in the choir program, what kind of student they have been, GPA, attitude, etc.  In order to compete with madrigals, you have to have above a 2.0.  If I am having a really difficult time deciding between a few individuals, especially if I don't know them well, I will most likely consult other teachers to learn more about your work ethic and attitude in class.

The final list will be posted Tuesday night here on the choir blog, along with the Concert Choir and Advanced Women choir lists. Advanced Women, Concert Choir, and Madrigals will all go on tour together, along with the band and orchestra.
