Important January Choir Dates:
- January 18th: This is the student preview night for the Utah Opera at Capitol Theater where students get to go FOR FREE! The opera is Moby Dick. I have a friend in it who says it is absolutely phenomenal. I will count this as an outside choral observation, as it has lots of great choral music! Don't miss out on this great opportunity- dress up and get a bunch of choir friends together. Bring your student ID's! If you've already done your term 2 observation, do it in advance for term 3 or term 4!
- January 19th: Last day of the term and last day to get in your Performance Observation Forms and any late work (like Sing to Serve!)
Important February Choir Dates:
- February 6-8: Choir Auditions
- You only need to sign up for an audition time if you are trying out for a new choir (for example, if you're in Concert Choir and auditioning for Madrigals). If you're staying in the same choir, you do not need to audition!
- Auditions will be 2:30-4:00 after school in the choir room. I will also be going to Hillside on the 6th and 8th to do some auditions there so please don't sign up for the times that say "HMS."

- February 9: Madrigals Callbacks after school in the choir room for all returning madrigals and those who are on the posted callback list on February 8th.
Other things:
- If there are any boys out there interested in doing two choirs next year (especially seniors with room in their schedules), I would love to get a men's choir going again next year. I would love some of my CC and Mads boys to join. With older guys combined with our new guys, it will be pretty rad. We can do much more barbershop repertoire. Sign up for Choir I TB on the registration card!
- Congratulations to everyone on an amazing holiday season! En Chantant did a singing exchange with SPA students, all our choirs performed on Temple Square, Concert Choir and Mads performed movements from a Schubert mass with the orchestra, we performed all together at our term concert, dozens of kids came to our caroling social to sing in the Highland neighborhood, and the Madrigals performed a total of 20 times all over Salt Lake City. It was an awesome month of spreading joy through MUSIC!
