February Choir Notes
Important February Choir Dates:
- Tuesday-Thursday, Feb 6-8: Choir auditions for the 2018-2019 school year are after school in the choir room. Sign up here. If you absolutely can't come after school, sign up under "first lunch auditions." If you have a class during that time, please sign up anyway and I'll work it out with you on an individual basis. Bring friends to audition for an opportunity to win prizes!
- Friday, February 9, 2:30-4 pm: Madrigals call-backs in the choir room. I will post the callback list Thursday evening on the blog.
- Thursday, Feb 8 (En Chantant) and Friday, February 9 (other choirs): Term 3 in-class performance music is due in class.
- Monday, Feb 12: Choir lists posted for En Chantant, Concert Choir, Madrigals
- Feb 20-23: In-class performances/region auditions during class. Students will sign up for a specific day next week.
Looking Ahead:
- Wednesday, March 7: Region Solo and Ensemble and Chamber Choir Festival @ Murray High School for the Madrigals and all soloists and small ensembles who qualified during region auditions in February.
- Tuesday, March 13: Term 3 Concert, 7:00 p.m. @ HHS
- Friday, March 23: Last day of term 3; third performance observation due.

This
contest is for all Utah 9-12 grades students (please see the flyer for
specifics and post in newsletters, on school website, and in classrooms).
Students participate by writing a letter to their elected official about an
issue that they want to change through the political process by
influencing/educating their elected official. This letter is an online
submission and the website is https://newnationproject.utah.gov/letter-contest There will be two student winners from
each legislative district, Salt Lake County Council district, and Salt Lake
City Council district who will accompany their elected official to a
performance of Hamilton.
- Talent Hunt ($1,000 Scholarship) Contest for High
School Students:
- Sponsored by the Salt Lake Community
College and the Iota Iota Iota Graduate Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity,
Inc.

- A friend of mine, Gail Johnson, is looking for a female singer! She is look for someone to sing her song on her youtube channel and website.
