Looking Ahead to May:
- Friday, May 4: Auditions right after school in the choir room for the following two things:
- Being a specialty performer outside for Tartanfest as people walk in to the school. Please sing one song at your audition for me. If you get chosen for Tartanfest, you'll be asked to prepare 3 songs. All Tartanfest performances must have live accompaniment (no minus tracks- we won't have a speaker).
- Performing a song during dinner at the choir banquet/concert. Anyone interested in performing at the choir banquet must do a song from a movie. Minus tracks or live accompaniment are acceptable.
- Friday, May 11: Choir Council applications due
- Monday, May 14-May 18: Choir Council interviews
- Tuesday, May 8: Madrigals sing the SSB at the soccer banquet, 3:20 p.m.
- Tuesday, May 15: Tartanfest from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- The event is free! Waffle Love will be there selling food for anyone interested and 10% gets donated back to the arts at HHS.
- Choir students will perform live music outside as community members come in.
- En Chantant will perform a set of music at 6:50 p.m. in the performance area in the cafeteria.
- Students can get their "Sing to Serve" done by coming to watch the performances from the other performing arts and looking at the art work by the visual artists for an hour.
- Monday, May 21: Choir Banquet, Awards Night, and Final Concert, "A Night at the Movies"
- Dinner and live entertainment from 6:00 p.m.- 6:50 (cost will be $5 per person- stay tuned for details about buying a dinner ticket. This is optional!)
- Concert/Awards from 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. (mandatory for all choir students)
- We are performing a West Side Story Medley at the end of our concert in May. Throughout the next month, we will be watching the musical (the 1961 academy award winning version with Natalie Wood) for 20-30 minutes at the end of class.
Cool Opportunity:
The Arrow (Rock 103.5) mentioned that the group Foreigner is offering an opportunity for a High School to sing on stage with Foreigner when they come in concert July 25th. See me if this interests you!
